Coraline

Coraline

By: Neil Gaiman

Genre: Fantasy/horror

Have you ever had a boring day in your life where you wish it was different? Well then, this story is for you! Coraline Jones, a girl who wishes for a little fun in life, has moved into her new home (an apartment flat that is actually a three story house) with some other quirky characters. One day while going about in her house she finds a door that leads to a world, her world, but a mirror opposite. As Coraline continues to visit her “Other Mother”, she soon meets three ghost children who tell her an eerie wake-up call: they were children who lived in her house before, then found the Other Mother who took their eyes and souls because they agreed to stay there. Now Coraline must use her smarts to get back to her own world. But will she meet the cruel personality of the so called “mother”? Or will she escape? I most definitely recommend this book for the next Reading Log!

Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry

Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry

By: Mildred D. Taylor

I like this book because it is realistic fiction. Little Man was in trouble and disrespectful in school. He was in trouble for not putting the books up. Then they saw two white boys, Rover and Melvin, they are bullies. So the children dug a hole in the ground and then they went home. I like this book and would recommend it to all!
